Le Mans – city of artistic and historical interest

Le Mans is noted for the variety of its historical buildings and the range of its cultural heritage. In Roman times it was a fortified town before becoming the seat of the Counts of Maine and latterly an important hub in Western Europe. Le Mans has always occupied a significant position in both economic and religious terms.

The cathedral dedicated to Saint Julian and the old town with 9 hectares of wooden houses are the jewels in the crown of the rich historical heritage of this lively city.
